Africa House is still standing dispite persistent rumors that it would be destroyed on the 9th. The CRS are still raiding it very regularly and CMS still considers it to be under threat of imminent eviction, so much is being done to prepare the residents and set up a coherent strategy for resistence.
The food distribution point has come under increasing focus by the police, who are breaking their de facto agreement with Salam not to raid the place. Yesterday ten Pashtun were arrested at food distribution – one migrant ran from the CRS and fell over. When the police caught him they beat him severely and broke his nose. CMS activists have started accompanying Pashtun from their camp to food distribution in order to provide some form of protection.
Activists are still urgently needed in Calais, so if you have any spare time please come and help out.
