Following yesterday’s banner hang from the town hall all three people arrested were eventually released after two hours. This morning there was a demonstration at the Sous-Prefecture’s office (local police station, the sub-prefect is the office that oversees harrassing migrants in Calais) from a Lille group DAL. They then went on to the town hall, scene of yesterday’s banner hang. This afternoon a small group of Hazara making their way along the ferry port road from their sand dune shelters to food distribution near the lighthouse were seen being arrested – later confirmed to be 5 people. One car of activists leaving today were greeted with “fine tooth body and bag search plus questions, only just got through to ferry”.
